The University of Arizona Department of Campus Recreation - Sport
Club Program seeks to provide a broad-based sport program that meets
the recreational needs of the university community.
A Sport Club is a student organization established to promote a
common interest and to foster participation and competition in a
specific sport or recreational activity
The Sport Club Program is designed to help students develop
leadership, organizational, and financial management skill. The
Department of Campus Recreation in turn provides supportive
administrators who assist the clubs with facilities, equipment,
limited financial support, and a structure to promote a variety of
club functions and competitive activities. A club's success is
directly related to the efforts and dedication of its members. As a
result, clubs offer a unique opportunity for students to develop
leadership and athletic skills in an activity of personal interest.
The University of Arizona and the Department of Campus Recreation
are not responsible for any injury or property loss incurred by any participant
in the Sport Club Program.

Sport Club Recognition Process:
1) Clubs must be registered and recognized by the Office of
Student Programs.
2) Clubs must then be registered and recognized by the Department of
Campus Recreation.
Student officers are elected by the club members and the club is
then charged with writing and implementing a constitution,
recruiting members, establishing club dues, publicizing club events,
and fund raising. The Department of Campus Recreation provides
support and assistance to clubs.
Faculty/staff and affiliate members are welcome to join the students
however, the membership and club operations must be administered
primarily by the students. Faculty/staff who are not Student
Recreation Center members and affiliate members must purchase a
Special Sport Club Membership in order to participate in the Sport
Club Program.. Some clubs do not allow affiliate members due to
league or association eligibility rules.
