Q: What is the difference between a Private and Semi-Private session?
A: In a private session, you will meet with a certified instructor who will provide one-on-one attention with a program tailored to meet your specific needs. In a semi-private session, two individuals will meet together with a certified instructor and each individual will still be provided with personal attention.
Q: What is the Yoga and Pilates program philosophy?
A: The philosophy behind our program is based on the idea of continuous lifetime practice. The certified instructor will ask you to engage in each posture, exercise, and/or technique to the best of your ability in each particular session. Your body may respond differently at each session and your instructor will help guide you through your session based on your body’s response.
Q: How do I begin my personal practice?
A: Fill out the Personal Information Sheet and the Assumption of Risk Form (make this a link) and return to the Campus Recreation Business Office. After review, we will match you with a certified instructor based on your goals, preferences, and availability. The Private and Semi-Private sessions may then be purchased at the Business Office.
Business Office hours:
Monday-Thursday 8-6pm
Fridays 8-5pm
Q: What can I expect during a session?
A: A private or semi-private session is a powerful way to enhance your Yoga or Pilates practice. You can expect a personalized program including poses, exercises, and techniques to meet your specific needs. The instructor may provide additional information and manual adjustments to help you better develop your mind-body awareness.
Q: What is the difference between Pilates Reformer & Pilates Mat Sessions?
A: The Pilates Reformer is an extraordinary flexible piece of equipment allowing resistance and support for exercises involving every part of the body. Use the Reformer to develop core and extremity strength, stability, flexibility, coordination, and balance. Dramatically transform the way your body looks, feels, and performs in these sessions! Mat sessions are floor mat exercises based on essential Pilates movement principles. These are a great introduction to learning body awareness, good posture, and easy, graceful movement.
