Program Philosophy:

Our goal is to educate our clients how to exercise safely and effectively for life. Our trainers will work with you to develop an exercise/activity program based on your fitness goals and will closely supervise your progress. Along the way we strive to provide you with enough knowledge, advice and resources that you become comfortable and confident in any fitness/weight room environment.

PERSONAL TRAINING POLICIES

GROUP PERSONAL TRAINING

Yes! I want to sign up!

You may start the registration process by downloading and filling out the Personal Information Sheet & Assumption of Risk, or you can obtain one at the SRC Business Office. We will attempt to match you with a trainer based on your goals and preferences and your desired workout days and times. If a trainer is available at this time, a “match” is made and you may pay your fees at the Business Office. The Business Office is open:

Mon-Thurs 8:00 am – 6:00 pm
Fri 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Sat - Sun Closed

Personal Training Policies

Client Eligibility:

· All clients must be current Student Recreation Center members.

· All clients will be required to complete informational documents prior to exercise.

· We reserve the right to deny services to those participants who may not be able to exercise safely within the parameters of our program.

Conduct of training sessions:

· All sessions will be conducted on the University of Arizona grounds.

· Individual training sessions will be a maximum of 60 minutes in length.

· A session “no show” counts as a session serviced and will be charged to the client.

· All cancellations must be made a minimum of 24 hours prior to the scheduled starting time of each individual session as agreed upon in the “Training Agreement.”

· Individual training sessions will be conducted as one-on-one training sessions only.

· Personal training will only be conducted by current Department of Campus Recreation personal training staff.

· A minimum of one training session per week per client will be serviced until each session package is completed.

Session Fees:

· All personal training sessions will be purchased at the Campus Recreation Business Office according to the current program fee scale.

· All sessions must be purchased in advance of the conduct of any individual training appointments.

Refunds:

· Personal training sessions are nontransferable and nonrefundable.

Group Personal Training

Group Personal Training is a 10-week program which provides participants the opportunity to work with a trainer in a small group. The group size is limited to 15 participants. A certified trainer will design workouts for the group and closely supervise your progress. A primary goal is to provide you with enough information and advice that you become comfortable and confident in any weight room environment. The program meets twice a week for 60 minutes each session. The cost of the program is $125 for Campus Recreation members and $250 for non-members.

What experience do the personal trainers have?

All of our trainers have earned their personal training certification through one of the following nationally recognized organizations: American Council on Exercise (ACE), Aerobic and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), or International Fitness Professionals Association (IFPA). In addition to the certifications and our in-house training, our personal trainers are required to complete continuing education requirements to maintain their certifications and to keep current with the latest fitness research and trends.

What kinds of exercises will I be doing?

After assessing your fitness goals, your trainer will have you performing exercises/activities which enhance muscular strength and endurance, cardiovascular fitness, flexibility, balance and coordination. Our trainers have the knowledge base and skills to provide you with numerous exercise options to keep your workouts challenging and fun.

What if I'm not in very good shape?

Our trainers will work with you to design a program based on what you can comfortably do. As your fitness improves, adjustments will be made so you are provided with new challenges and improvement continues. Our trainers will be with you through each workout providing constructive feedback and support so you can learn exercise habits that will serve you for the rest of your life!

What if I'm already in good shape?

Our personal trainers have the expertise to design and implement workouts for very fit individuals as well as programs with very specific training goals.

Where will the workouts be held?

All workouts will take place in the Student Recreation Center, Bear Down weight room or on University of Arizona grounds.
